Environmentally friendly clothing and accessories are made with materials that are renewable, such as cotton and other fiber crops, hemp, bamboo, silk and recycled materials. Clothing made from organically grown crop fibers is even better because the farmers do not use any fertilizers or pesticides on the crops, which can damage the environment. Fair-trade clothing, jewelry, and other pieces of art are also desirable because they are made from workers who are paid fairly and work under adequate conditions. Many times artisan work comes from developing countries where the artist is not compensated well, and fair-trade products ensure that pay is fair, as well as provide adequate working conditions.
